It’s that time again. Actually it’s past that time…when I need to upgrade the computer system – you know the feeling…suddenly the computer can’t keep up with you anymore. It’s constantly cranking in the background, you’ve done all you can to squeeze the resources out of it. So the search begins for a new system.

This time it’ll have to be a speed demon to keep up with Adobe CS5 – so we’ll order it with a dual quad core, with 6 GB of memory, blah, blah…

I have two monitors now, but I’m considering a third for a social networking constant, some times I just have my laptop open for that. Although it can be distracting.

Over the almost twenty years of business I’ve budgeted for a new computer every 2-3 years, with a software upgrade in between. It’s worked well for me. The funny thing is this new one will almost cost as much as my first one…a Gateway Pentium System with 512K hard drive – wow! It was SO COOL!!! But it was expensive at $3500, but less expensive than a Mac.

That’s why I became a Graphic Designer on a PC – it was affordable.
