Professional Resources for Authors and Writers

We’ve collected a list of our favorite book coaches, editors, illustrators, and book marketing professionals to help you, the author, prepare your manuscript for the design stage.

If you want your story to reach the maximum audience, especially if you’re building a platform, we recommend hiring one or more of these professionals. You did all the hard work of writing your book, here are the people to take it to the next level of excellence!

We recommend these professionals based on our experience working with them, but we can’t guarantee their work.

Let a Book Coach Keep You on Track

Most authors struggle while writing their manuscripts — that’s normal. But sometimes a coach or mentor is needed to ensure you’re on the right track. And sometimes you need someone to write the book for you. We have compiled a list of book coaches and ghostwriters for your consideration. It might just be what you need to get to the finish line.

Work with a Professional Editor

As book designers, we know the value of good editing. We require a professional editor to work with you before we touch your file.
If you’ve never worked with an editor before, we encourage you to read our detailed post written by Melissa of Purple Ninja Editorial Services. It answers many of the questions we hear regularly from authors.
We have built this list of editors for you to help narrow down the options for your manuscript. Please contact them as soon as possible to check their availability.

Hire an Experienced Illustrator

We love working with illustrators – each one has their own style, favorite method, and tools. However, not every artist understands the process necessary to create book illustrations. Be prepared to allow 6-9 months for the illustration work to be completed once you have a signed contract. The best illustrators are often busy, so it’s best to begin your search as soon as possible. Each illustrator on this page has worked with our authors at least once. Please contact them directly for availability and pricing information.
