Read Me A Story

AUTHOR’S VISION:

This is the third book in our author’s self-published illustrated children’s book series—Boise and LaBelle Adventures. We have worked with author S. P. Williams on each book, Cleaning House, Who Needs Swim Lessons? and now the latest in the series, Read Me A Story.

This sweet story begins with La Belle’s friend, Sadie, sharing a new book —but neither of them can read it! Using the pictures in the book, Sadie and La Belle make up their own story. Pookie, the dog, and brother, Boise, help, too!

This story reminds me of the adventures my grandchildren enjoy together, creativity unhindered! The illustrations created by Lizette Duvenage, are bright and colorful as the story the children tell plays out on the bedroom wall! The collaboration between the author and illustrator is evident in the details of the artwork on every page. This will make a great gift for the young creative child in your life.

OUR PROCESS:

Designing a children’s book with illustrations can be more challenging than a fiction book. The first step we took with the author was to create a storyboard to identify what images were necessary to successfully tell the story. Next, we helped the illustrator understand the details that were needed in each image. Then the illustrator began her process of creating the digital artwork in Procreate, delivering the final artwork in a Photoshop format.

We assisted the author in uploading the book files to both KDP and IngramSpark. The book is available in hardcover, paperback, and eBook formats.

This project involved:

Custom cover layout for all formats (ebook, paperback and hardcover)
Interior Formatting with illustrations
Self-publishing planning and management of metadata and file uploads
Distribution through KDP and IngramSpark with worldwide listings
Development of book mockups for marketing
Sales Sheet for marketing to independent bookstores, libraries, and other opportunities

The book is available in paperback, hardcover, and a fixed-format eBook. Now available online at your favorite bookstore.
