Better and Happier Together:

Stories of Epic Adventures During Our First Forty Years of Marriage

CLIENT STORY:

Shannon A. Jackson and her husband lived a life of extreme experiences, but creating a memoir, Better and Happier Together has been the newest challenge. The Jacksons have overcome the most extreme challenges—climbing Mount Denali, hiking the Continental Divide Trail for months, and even beating a strange heart condition, but new they needed help with this one. Shannon came to us for help compiling their story into a book that would include photographs from all their trips. She didn’t plan on publishing it for the masses, but once we started working on it, we knew it had to be shared. Shannon is a natural storyteller and the chapters came to life in my first reading.

PROJECT SCOPE:

Inspired by the challenge of sharing this book with the world, we went to work. Shannon and I worked together on a plan of how we would include the photos. She chose the best ones to represent each short story and then wrote a short caption for each of them. We laid them out at the end of each chapter to create a collage with the descriptions on the facing page. To help the reader understand the enormity of the challenges we also created a custom map for a majority of the stories, which we included at the beginning of each chapter. We chose to make the interior full color to highlight the photos and maps and the spectacular scenery they enjoyed along the way.
