Baseball: Teach Your Kid to Hit
CLIENT:
There are very few clients as passionate about the subject of their books as much as the author, Kevin Gallagher. All through our conversation about the book he spoke about his desire for young kids to be able to be successful in hitting the ball! Kevin Gallagher has written a book that provides a process to parents and coaches on how to teach children to hit a baseball or a softball. It is a process that will dramatically increase the chances of any child to make contact with the ball. Hitting a baseball is hard and very few people know how to teach children or young adults how to hit.
PROJECT SCOPE:
The illustrations in this book were created by Ceej Rowland, a digital illustrator in England. He uses ProCreate as his tool of choice and delivered the images as PSD or Tiff files. This included the cover art background. We love working with illustrators, especially when we can be involved from the beginning.
We set the cover typography and laid out the interior adding the illustrations, images and quotes as the client specified. We chose an easy to read font and a larger size book to make it easy for the reader to lay on the ground while practicing. The author created a series of videos as well which were included as links in the book.
We uploaded the book for the client to IngramSpark as a print and ebook format.
Kevin has done a great job marketing his own book. He has shared his story on podcasts, radio shows and reached out to the Little League Baseball organization and Cooperstown Baseball Museum encouraging them to sell the book on their sites.
