Full of warmth and wisdom, My Mother’s Daughter presents compelling stories of Black women in varying geographies, careers, and stages of life with one important commonality: the powerful relationships with their mothers. These personal and poignant essays depict the impactful connection built and sustained between them, often when accomplishments by Black women were challenged.
This collection of nearly 30 essays from highly accomplished Black women, delivers realistic pictures of the impactful and not always-easy relationships between mothers and daughters. The book offers a rich testament to the first connection women have and the enduring legacy of faith, wisdom, service, and love.
