The Lake Dog Adventure Series

CLIENT STORY:

The first book in the Lake Dog Adventure series is The Mailboat Dog. This illustrated children’s book takes place in a picturesque lake town in Wisconsin, where Izzy, an ambitious, scruffy-faced dog lives. Izzy is determined to be the first dog to ever deliver the mail by boat. This adventurous story takes you on a journey aboard America’s oldest Mailboat that, with the help of mail jumpers, has delivered mail for over 100 years. Izzy is ready to be the first mail jumper dog! This brave canine is ready to prove that she has what it takes to beat the odds and officially become The Mailboat Dog.

Alicia Boemi earned a degree in English Writing from Drake University and owns a pet-care business focusing on quality nutrition for our furry friends. She serves as the Social Media Coordinator for The Society of Children’s Books Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) regional Illinois group and is a lifetime member of the Friends of the Lake Geneva Public Library.

She hired the American artist Joan Zander Millard who did a beautiful job creating the full bleed, full color illustrations for every page of the story. Her bright color palette compliments this delightful story.

Created a series badge to be used with the book and future books in the Lake Dog Adventure Series

Book cover spread layout with book description, bar code, etc.
Self-publishing assistance with book upload on KDP and IngramSpark including metadata and category decisions.
We also prepared the book for a commercial print company Formax.

The final book was published as an 8.5 x 8.5 inch paperback, 38 pages on KDP, an eBook on KDP and a hardcover book with IngramSpark. She has the hardcover available from the commercial print house on her website.
