American Heritage Trees is a non-profit organization based in Lebanon, Tennessee and have a very special purpose: they grow trees that originate with historical figures!
“American Heritage Trees combines our nation’s historic heritage with conservation. Each tree we sell offers a special significance in American history and tells an interesting story about U.S.Presidents, explorers, writers, and other key figures in our Nation’s history. Our work is undertaken in partnership with the parent tree owners. As a nonprofit, we hope to serve as a catalyst to educate Americans about their rich national heritage and provide an opportunity to own a piece of American history.”
Andrea of Nashville Geek brought me in to design the website, which required a visit to the farm. I took a lot of photos and got to see the greenhouses where these trees were being grown.
We have had a few projects working directly with Nashville Geek making fully-custom websites. While we do offer website services. Nashville Geek’s offerings are far and away the most custom option for a website design. For this project, they asked us to create a design, from scratch, in Photoshop, and they took the files to create the WordPress site. The complex site required each tree “type” to have their specifics listed out, as well as the story of the historical figure from which it originated to make sure our history continues to be told to future generations.
