Ann Sageer of Ciao Chow Bambina started her blog in 2013 with the help of her family and friends. She is an outstanding photographer and had established a very nice following on the blog and her on her social media channels. Much of her traffic is from Pinterest and Instagram which obviously is driven by her outstanding photos AND great recipes. She posts new content 2-3 times a week and was ready to take the blog to the next level.
Ann connected with me through Tracy Higginbotham of WomenTIES.com another client in Syracuse, NY. Immediately I was reminiscing about all things CNY, Italian and favorite foods with her and I knew this would be a delightful project. I asked Ann to give me some examples of websites she liked and what her specific needs were. She requested a continual feed of posts on the home page, varying sized pictures, a different font for the script, and an overall cleanness to the site with lots of white space. Her examples were excellent with nice explanations of what she liked about each one. I appreciated that! 🙂
I did a thorough backend check of her site and identified what changes were necessary. I brought in Larry Wilcox of CNY Web Design to help with the technical pieces I didn’t want to handle – he is a talented WordPress guru! Nice to know a few of them!
I was able to create a couple hand drawn images for a unique, customized design even though a WordPress template was used for functionality and lower overall design cost. The final design has a nice fresh feel and is ready for 2015. I’m sure I’ll be adding a bunch of these recipes to my Pinterest boards!
