I can’t say enough about learning through video – I’m a visual person, so having a video that allows me to stop and start and repeat has always been a fantastic way to learn.

Learn it all. Learn it fast. Learn it now.My favorite site to find a little of everything is lynda.com – most recently I’ve found the extra knowledge on the iPhone that I hadn’t gleaned from the iTunes Help menus and my all knowing 24 year old son! Their chapter by chapter videos allow you to choose the subject you need and just go over that piece or if you have tons of time, go through the entire video. I usually just hunt for the piece I need the most. I’ve watched videos on everything from Creative Suites upgrades to WordPress instructions, they have all subjects of software.

Now before you get too excited, this isn’t totally free, I have a monthly subscription. But I find it’s well worth it. But they do offer some free videos and 24 hour passes. I think you’ll find it worth the price.

They even have an app for the iPhone! 🙂

    Becky,

I couldn’t agree more. I, too, love the ability to zero in on the piece of information I need now, without wading through the entire video.

I used to rely solely on books. Adding videos to my list of resources has been a huge benefit.

You may not realize this but it was you who first mentioned Lynda.com to me. I thank you for that!

Hi Evelyn – I mention lynda.com so much they should make me an ambassador! I’m glad you’re still finding them useful – they keep adding do their library, and even my husband finds videos that are useful for his IT use.

I’ve added their app to my iPhone now – so I can take them with me wherever I go and keep learning on the go!

Hi Becky – You would make a great ambassador!

I like the idea of learning on the go. I often find myself waiting for the kids. I try to bring work with me but it involves lugging books and papers around.

Luckily technology is keeping up with us. I don’t have an iPhone but I am looking into other ways to make it easier to work and learn on the go!
